Implied Odds - To take the pot odds concept even futher to include money expected to be put into the potInside Straight - To have four cards that require only one card between the highest rank and the lowest rank to complete a straight
Jackpot Poker - A form of poker that offers a jackpot payoff to any player that loses with an exceptionally good hand (Aces full or better)
Jam - A hand in which several players are raising each other
Key Card - A card that gives you a big draw or makes your hand
Key Hand - That one hand in the course of a tournament or session the makes or breaks that player
Kick It - To raise
Kicker -The highest unpaired side card that helps determine the value of hand
Kill Pot - A way to stimulate action. It is a forced bet by someone who has just won a pot
Knock - A check by knocking on the table
Kojak - A hand that contains a K-J
Lady - A queen. Two queens are ladies
Lay Down - To fold
Lay Odds - To give favorable odds to an opponent
Lead - The first player to bet into a pot
Leak - To unknowingly show ones hole cards
Leg up - When a player has won the last pot and will probably have to kill the pot if he/she wins the current pot
Lid - The top card of the deck
Limit Poker - A poker game where the amount of the bet is fixed
Limp In - To enter the pot by calling rather than raising
Live Blind - Same as big blind but live means the big blind bettor has the option of raising his bet if no one else has raised
Live Card - A card that has not been dealt or exposed
Live Hand - A hand that has a good chance to improve
Live On - The best opponent, one who plays fast, has a lot of money, and is a poor player
Lock - A hand that cannot be beaten. Also called the NUT
Lock Up - A chip marker that holds a seat for a player
Look - When a player calls the final bet before the showdown
Loose - A player that plays a high percentage of his/her hands
Make the Deck -To shuffle the deck
Middle Pair - To make a pair with one hole card and the middle card on the flop
Miscall - When a player makes an incorrect verbal declaration of the ranking of a hand
Misdeal - A hand that was dealt incorrectly and must be reshuffled a dealt again
Missed Blind - When a player is obligated to post a blind and does not do it
Muck - The pile of discarded face down hands in front of the dealer. Or to describe the act of a player folding (Throw their cards into the muck)
Nickel - Another word for 5 dollar chip
No Limit - A version of poker where a player can bet any amount of chip up to the amount in front of them
Nuts - The best possible hand any player can have given the composition of the board
Nut Player - A very tight player who plays only the best hands
